Innovative teaching is aimed at making learning more student-centered than tutor- centered. This approach promotes the transfer of knowledge and skills in teaching students to be self-directed learners. It promotes heutagogical instead of pedagogical skills enhancing the transfer of cognitive knowledge, psychomotor and affective skills. This training was done with the county teams in the PRIME-K decentralized sites to prepare them for their role as adjunct lectures in improving the quality and delivery of medical education.
